Personality:
CW: cult mentions, abuse, death, drowning mentions
Eleanor was raised with the sole purpose of furthering her mother's agenda for utopia. As a result, she is shown to be incredibly intelligent. At a young age, she is already shown hacking security systems so that she can go where she wants. She also figures out how to revive her father Delta from the dead ten years after he's killed. She's very strong-willed, often disregarding the beliefs her mother attempts to instill in her in favor of forming her own opinions without her.
She's curious about the world around her that she's being kept from, as well as the world above her that she's never seen before. She reads what she can about the surface, and when her mother begins trying to turn her into a being with no free will, she becomes determined to get there. She provides Delta with information, supplies, and help to get her out. Everytime a plan falls through, she refuses to give up and comes back with another.
On top of her genuine curiosity, she's also outright rebellious. She wants to do things on her own terms and sneaks out whenever she can, not only away from her mother, but Grace as well. She can also be vindictive about her situation. She can be shown breaking her mother's things, such as fine china and a stained glass window made by her followers. While fighting, she threatens the followers that they'll die alone and afraid if they stand in her and Delta's way.
Regardless, she's also shown to be very protective of those she loves. She refers to the little sisters as her sisters and tells the splicers they won't hurt them again. She also fights fiercely to protect her father, donning her big sister suit and killing anyone who stands in her way of saving him. Despite the way she's been treated, she's kind, saving the little sisters and bringing them to the surface with her.
Learning from Delta, she becomes more forgiving. She could've allowed her mother to die in the flooded escape sub for all that she's done to Eleanor, but gives her an oxygen tank instead. Her morals are strong, even when it could get her in trouble, such as allowing her mother to live and escape with her. She also attempts to confront Stanley when he's ruining her mother's commune and tries to make him stop, threatening to tell. She's sold to the little sister program for her trouble.
